- 1 cup (120g) hazelnuts, toasted
- 1 cup (150g) candied orange peel, chopped
- 1 cup (150g) dried figs, chopped
- 1/2 cup (60g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tsp ground cloves
- 1/2 cup (120ml) honey
- 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions
- Toast Nuts: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Toast almonds and hazelnuts for 8-10 minutes. Cool and chop.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: Combine nuts, dried fruits, flour, and spices in a large bowl.
- Make Syrup: Heat honey and sugar in a saucepan until bubbly and thickened (3-4 minutes).
- Combine and Shape: Mix syrup with dry ingredients, press into a parchment-lined 8-inch pan.
- Bake: Lower oven to 325°F (160°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes. Cool completely.
- Dust: Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
