- 7 oz (200g) dark chocolate, chopped
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tbsp rum (optional)
- 7 oz (200g) plain cookies, crushed
- 1/2 cup (60g) nuts, chopped (pistachios, hazelnuts or almonds)
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions
- Melt Chocolate: In a double boiler, melt the dark chocolate until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until creamy. Add the eggs and rum, mixing until well combined. Stir in the melted chocolate.
- Add Cookies and Nuts: Fold in the crushed cookies and chopped nuts until evenly distributed.
- Shape Salami: Lay out a piece of plastic wrap or parchment paper. Spoon the mixture onto the wrap and shape it into a log, about 2 inches in diameter. Wrap tightly and twist the ends to seal.
- Chill: Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until firm.
- Serve: Unwrap the Chocolate Salami and dust with powdered sugar. Slice into rounds and serve.
Notes
Ensure the eggs are fresh and of high quality.
If you prefer a firmer texture, you can add a bit more crushed cookies to the mixture.
