Description

This Frutti di Mare recipe is simple, delicious, and packed with seafood! Tossed with pasta and a flavorful sauce, it’s a perfect dish for seafood lovers.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 12 oz rigatoni pasta
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 lb mussels, cleaned
  • 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 lb squid (bodies and tentacles), cleaned and sliced
  • 1/2 lb bay scallops
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine
  • 1 jar (24 oz) arrabiata sauce
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: Boil salted water and cook rigatoni until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
  2. Sauté the Garlic: In a large sauté pan, heat olive oil and sauté garlic until fragrant.
  3. Add the Seafood: Stir in the mussels, shrimp, squid, and scallops. Cook for 4-5 minutes until the seafood begins to cook through.
  4. Deglaze with Wine: Pour in white wine and simmer for 2 minutes. Add arrabiata sauce and simmer for 5-7 minutes until seafood is cooked through.
  5. Toss the Pasta: Add the pasta to the sauce, tossing to coat. Stir in fresh basil and serve immediately.

Notes

You can substitute spaghetti or linguine for bucatini.

For a less spicy version, use marinara sauce instead of arrabiata.

Feel free to customize the seafood mix with clams, crab, or even octopus.
